Smart Communication Systems is hiring experienced directional drillers to support growing fiber and utility construction work throughout Texas. You will operate bore equipment, read prints, coordinate with locators and labor crews, and help deliver safe, high-quality installations in residential and commercial environments.
What you’ll do
- Operate horizontal directional drill rigs and support equipment on active job sites.
- Read job prints, bore logs, and as-built documentation.
- Coordinate with locators, foremen, and labor crews to maintain safe work zones.
- Perform pre-trip inspections and basic maintenance on assigned equipment.
- Document daily production, footage, and any field issues for project teams.
What we’re looking for
- 1+ years of directional drilling experience in telecom or utility construction.
- Valid driver's license; CDL preferred.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather and terrain.
- Strong safety mindset and willingness to follow Smart A.L.W.A.Y.S. standards.
- OSHA 10 preferred; willing to complete company safety training.
